With a diverse and highly interactive group of researchers, the Department of Molecular, Cell and Cancer Biology (MCCB) is the ideal setting for pre-doctoral training in the biological sciences. Graduate students in any of the UMass Chan Medical School Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Basic & Biomedical Sciences doctoral programs can perform their thesis work in an MCCB lab. For students who desire more comprehensive and focused doctoral training in cancer biology, the Program in Cancer Biology provides a specialized track within the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. In support of these efforts is the Translational Cancer Biology Training Program, an NIH-funded training grant that supports both pre- and post-doctoral trainees involved in cancer research on campus.
