Optional Practical Training 24-Month STEM Extension

Information for Alumni CURRENTLY in their initial 12-month period of Post-Completion OPT. Additional information on STEM OPT is available at DHS's STEM HUB.

Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences alumni who are currently in their initial 12-month period of post-completion OPT may be eligible to apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension if employed by an E-Verify employer in good statnding with USCIS. The below handouts provide specific application instructions. Alumni may contact the Immigration Services Office at immigrationservices@umassmed.edu with any questions or when they are ready to submit their STEM OPT application materials:
