Commencement

The 51st Annual Commencement Exercises to celebrate the accomplishments of the classes of 2024 at UMass Chan Medical School will be held on campus on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

The ceremony will take place on the campus green in front of the Medical School Building, with more than 300 students from the T.H. Chan School of Medicine, the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing and the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences expected to receive degrees.

Ceremony seating 

Sunday, June 2, 2024 

10:30 a.m.: Guest seating opens 

Seating under the tent will begin at 10:30 a.m. During the processional that begins at 11:45 a.m., no guests will be seated. Please note that food is not allowed in the tent.

Note: We recommend leaving large strollers at the back of the tent, as seating is tight and aisles are narrow.  

11:15 a.m.: Robing and formation of the line of march 

Graduates and faculty must report to their designated areas; graduates to the Medical School overhang and patio; faculty to the first floor Multi-purpose room in the Albert Sherman Center at 11:15 a.m. Commencement staff will be present to assist with robing and order the line of march. The academic procession begins promptly at 11:45 a.m.
