Diversity Engagement Survey (DES)
The Diversity Engagement Survey (DES) was developed in collaboration with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to measure how well academic medical centers are responding to the diversity of their community members (i.e., their faculty, staff, and students). By measuring the academic medicine environment through the lens of diversity and inclusion, the DES provides institutions with data on their level of active engagement by their members, their inclusive characteristics, and the degree to which their diverse groups experience inclusion.
We actively collaborate with the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Inclusion, the UMass Chan Diversity and Inclusion Office, and university stakeholders to create detailed reports to aid in the improvement of the diversity and inclusion campus landscape.
