Family Resources and Support
After a patient suffers from a brain injury, family members may find themselves trying to process and to make difficult decisions, while feeling as if they have little information or control over the situation. There are many resources available to help families understand what their loved one is going through - physically and mentally - and to aid in supporting families in recovery.
The Neurocritical Care Society has a very thorough webpage dedicated to family resources. They discuss what "neurocritical care" means and the different kind of diseases that are treated in a NeuroICU. They have compiled a wonderful PDF guide for families that is available in a number of languages (english version linked here).
In addition, here are a number of support groups and organizations that may help families navigate through difficult times.
