Are you interested in treatment for opioid use and/or looking for additional treatment for both opioid use and mental health?

If so, UMass Chan Medical School invites you to participate in a research study on improving your health and life during an outpatient treatment program at different clinical sites in MA!

If you are eligible to participate, you could…

  • Participate in 6 months of voluntary treatment aimed at helping individuals with a history of substance use and mental health problems
  • Complete 5 confidential voluntary interviews over a 12-month period
  • Receive compensation up to $325

Research is one of the main ways we can improve substance use and mental health treatment for those who need it. This project is testing a new way to work with and improve treatment for individuals who have substance use and mental health problems.

If you’re interested, please call us at 774-455-HELP or email us at star.cod.study@umassmed.edu. Please provide your name and contact information when you call or email.

By providing your name and contact information, you are indicating you would like to be contacted about the research study.  Providing this information does not mean you have to be in the project.  It only means that you would like more information before you decide.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

This project (ID# H00023911) is being sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health and is led by Dr. David Smelson at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School.
