Philip Hewes, MD, MPH
 studied biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan and later attended Boston University where he obtained his medical degree and an MPH in epidemiology in 2015.  He started his training in general surgery and completed a burn surgery research fellowship before deciding to switch to internal medicine and graduating from the IM residency at Boston Medical Center in June 2024.  He is interested in health equity and education, methodologies in developing humanistic practices, and management of total pain. He enjoys photography, board games and super dry historical non-fiction.



Marie King, MD PhD
obtained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2001 and a master’s degree in molecular and cellular biology in 2003 at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.  She completed the MD-PhD program at University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2010 and trained in emergency medicine at UMass.  She has practiced as an EM physician for more than 10 years at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA.  Her favorite things include crafting, traveling, reading fantasy fiction and spending time with her cats.
